Pothole Secure

Pothole Secure is a benefit that allows you access to expert administrative staff that will expedite the claims process and provide you with the best chances of having your claim approved and paid out as quick as possible.

Pothole Secure Benefits

We cover the member in the event of damages to their vehicle's rims that are cracked, bent, or buckled from a pothole including scratches and polishing what is commonly known as potholes.

We will pay the member up front for the damaged rim that are cracked, bent, or buckled from a pothole including scratches and polishing.

There is no excess payable. 

Limitations of Service

The incident must have taken within the borders of the Republic of South Africa·

The benefit is only available to the member of the policy and not in the case that the vehicle is driven by another party.

Where the member has already claimed (or is in the process of claiming) for the applicable damage from their insurance company.

The event is not reported to Grand Secure within 5 (five) working days of the incident occurring.

The member sources separate second opinions, without Grand Secure’s permission. These costs are for the member's account.

Any costs associated with the member being approached by an outside individual/entity without the approval of Grand Secure.

If membership fee is not fully paid up at the time of the event.

Claims

The Administrator will explain to the member on what documents are required in order to facilitate the claim which will include, but not limited to:

- A full electronic and telephonic explanation of what the incident

- Client to provide affidavit of the incident that occurred

- Pictures of the pothole

- Picture of the bent, buckled or cracked, scratched rims and mag, license disc.

Upon approval of the claim, the Administrator will refer you to the approved repairer.

Claims are limited to R1500 per incident.

The Administrator reserves the right, at its discretion, to authorise a claim up to the value the damage arising from the incident.

Claims may only be made after six consecutive successful premiums have been collected.

Thereafter a claim may only be made once per annum.

RAF Secure

General

The RAF reimburses you if your claim has been successful with the Road Accident Fund. You may claim for medical fees, loss of income suffered, and punitive damages. If you have been injured in an accident on South African roads, you may be able to claim for damages from the RAF.

Claiming from the RAF can be a long and complicated process if you are trying to claim by yourself and attorney fees are high.

RAF Secure will assign you to a legal professional to assist you in this claim.

Legal documentation to support your case

Your complete claim will comprise a certified description of the accident, and the details of the persons involved.

It will also include medical reports of your injuries suffered, a police report of the accident, insurance information, photographic evidence of the accident and damages caused, and proof of income lost.

Limitations of Service

If your membership fee has not been paid at the time of the claim. 6 consecutive payments must have been made.

Where the member has already claimed (or is in the process of claiming) from the RAF, no service will be provided.

If the member claims for accidents outside the borders of the Republic of South Africa.

If the member fails to comply to all legal and regulatory requirements of the Roads Act of South Africa and any other applicable legislation.

If documents are not supplied to the assigned attorney.

If documents are to be found fraudulent by the attorney.

People under the age of 18 will not be covered unless accompanied by a legal guardian.

If the road accident has not been reported by the driver/owner to the SA Police within 24 hours of happening.

The member may lose the right to claim if they do not make themselves available to a medical examiner.

Damage to property cannot be claimed from the RAF.

The Claims Administrator will then refer you to specialist RAF attorney who will guide you through the process.

The claim process begins immediately once the member has informed Grand Secure.

The assigned attorney will contact you and request the following documents but not limited to:

- Emergency Medical Expenses

- Non-emergency Medical Expenses

- Accommodation Costs in Hospital, Clinic or Nursing Home

- Loss of Income in the event of Disability

- Loss of Support for the dependant/s of a deceased or disabled member

- General Damages: Body Injury that leads to Pain, Suffering and/or Disfigurement.

Your information is protected in accordance with the POPI Act. Your information will be shared without your explicit consent.
